Yes. Early access users (first 50) get a 90-day free trial. After that, the standard trial is 30 days. Card required to start. Full access to everything during the trial, no feature restrictions.

SpeyBooks has a full web interface alongside the API. You don't need to write code to use it, but if you can, you'll get a lot more out of it.

Your financial data is hosted at Hetzner's data centres in Germany (EU). Encrypted database backups are replicated to AWS in London (eu-west-2, UK). Data never leaves UK or EU jurisdiction. Full details are available on our sub-processors page.

SpeyBooks is designed with MTD compliance in mind. VAT tracking and reporting are built in. Direct HMRC submission via the API is on our roadmap — for now, SpeyBooks generates the figures your accountant or MTD-bridging software needs.

A dedicated accountant portal is planned. In the meantime, you can export reports as CSV or create a scoped API key with read-only access for your accountant to pull data directly.
