Dividend Declaration Wizard

A guided four-step wizard for declaring dividends, accessible from the Director detail page or directly at /dividends/new.

• Profit sufficiency check — verifies retained earnings before you can proceed, showing available profits after deducting any previously declared dividends for the financial year.
• Board minutes recording — captures meeting date, attendees, total dividend amount, and optional notes. Creates a formal board resolution reference automatically.
• Per-shareholder allocation — distribute dividends individually or use “Split Equally” / “Split by Shares” for quick allocation. A progress bar tracks allocated vs approved amounts in real time.
• Voucher generation — each declared dividend generates a numbered voucher (DIV-0001, DIV-0002, etc.) with PDF download available immediately from the summary screen.

Dividend History on Director Detail Page

• Inline dividend table — the Director detail page now shows all declared dividends for that director, including voucher number, date, payment method, status, amount, and a one-click PDF download.
• Running total — a summary line shows total dividends declared across all entries.
• Empty state — when no dividends exist, a direct link to the wizard makes it easy to get started.

Improvements

• Plan-based feature gating — Directors and dividends features are only visible and accessible to limited company accounts. Sole trader accounts see a clean sidebar without these items, and direct URL access redirects to the dashboard.
• Allocation input fix — the dividend allocation amount field now allows free typing with updates committed on blur, rather than recalculating on every keystroke.
